South Longitudinal radiosarajevo.baBeginning of continuation of construction of the South longitudinal is expected in the first quarter of 2016, the Directorate for Roads of the Sarajevo Canton confirmed.

Continuation of construction of the South longitudinal includes construction of a modern road from the intersection of streets Zvornička and Hamdije Čemerlića in the settlement Grbavica to the intersection near the bakery AS in the settlement Hrasno, as well as continuation towards the large intersection near the facility of the Court of B&H.

Two roundabouts will be constructed on this route – at the joint of the streets Handije Čemerlića and Zvornička and at the joint of streets Zvornička and Azize Šaćirbegović.

Removal of all temporary and illegal facilities located on the route of South longitudinal is completed.

The remaining problem which has to be solved is the residential building in the street Grbavička 62-68, since it is on the route of the planned South longitudinal. This issue can only be solved when the Municipal Council Novo Sarajevo adopts the Decision on passing and implementing the urban project “Grbavička”.
