The Minister of Defense of BiH Zekerijah Osmić received the Ambassador of Macedonia to BiH Ramija Redžepija, who was accompanied by the assistant to the Macedonian Ambassador Valentin Mitrovski.

Ambassador Redžepija spoke of the extraordinary level of cooperation between Macedonia and BiH, and especially on the cooperation in defense, which is demonstrated in the joint participation in several military exercises, military training, participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, as well as exchange of visits at the Ministerial level and the level of army chiefs of the armed forces of both countries.

Minister Osmić particularly emphasized the fact that BiH and Macedonia do not have open questions and that both countries are in the process of moving closer towards Euro-Atlantic integration. This will contribute to economic development the improvement of conditions, because membership in NATO provides security for all member countries and increases foreign investments and secures them.

The successful implementation of reforms in the defense sector was highlighted, and that the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces are prepared to, given there is political will, help with the registration of 63 military sites. This is the only condition left for activating the Action Plan for full membership to NATO.
