The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, today received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, María Teresa Lizaranza Perinat, for a farewell visit.

Bećirović thanked the Kingdom of Spain for its contribution in spreading the truth about the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica. The Kingdom of Spain supported the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly, thereby showing respect for the innocent victims and the UN courts, Bećirović pointed out.

He also thanked for the overall support of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially emphasizing the assistance in the field of security and defense, as well as the assistance directed through several projects that contributed to the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law, and for the various cultural exchanges between the two countries, emphasizing the very important role of Ambassador Perinat.

Ambassador Perinat pointed out that she is leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina happy because the cooperation between the two countries is on the rise in many fields. She emphasized that visible progress of civil society has been achieved in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and confirmed that the Government of the Kingdom of Spain supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Bećirović expressed the hope that the good cooperation between the two countries will continue in the future, and he wished Ambassador Perinat a successful continuation of her diplomatic career, the Public Relations Service of the BiH Presidency announced.
