Cooperation between Kazakhstan and B&H ekapija.baThe Ambassador of Kazakhstan to B&H with the headquarters in Zagreb Aslan Musin said yesterday in Sarajevo that the volume of trade between B&H and Kazakhstan is very low and amounts to around a million Dollars, although there are wide possibilities for the development of cooperation.

At the round table on the topic “Economic Potentials of Kazakhstan”, Musin pointed out that representatives from B&H can actively take advantages of the benefits of the Customs Union, since the entrance to the market of Kazakhstan will create conditions for the entrance to the markets of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia – a market of nearly 170 million consumers.

It was announced from the Foreign Trade Chamber (VTK) of B&H that, as an example of possible cooperation, Musin stated the sector of construction, industry, and agriculture.

Musin held a presentation to the present businessmen and representatives of the institutions in B&H about the economic potentials of Kazakhstan and the possibilities of business cooperation between the two countries.

Musin emphasized that Kazakhstan in the ninth largest country in the world, and a destination of about 70 percent of total investments in the countries of the Central Asia.

Kazakhstan is rich in resources, with around five thousand mines and ore bodies whose amount is estimated to tens of trillions of Dollars. In the past five years, 750 new companies have been launched and 75.000 new jobs created.

Kazakhstan started the application of the program of industrial and innovational development, and the new policy of the President of the Republic “Nurli Zol” foresees three billion Dollars for those purposes, it was stated in the announcement.

The program stipulates the development of transport and logistics infrastructure.

Only in the sector of road construction the creation of 200.000 new jobs is planned, and $1 billion is allocated for the needs of modernization of utility and residential infrastructure.

At the same time, the project “New Silk Road” is being implemented which will transform Kazakhstan into the largest international business and transit hub in the region – a bridge between Asia and Europe.

The foreign trade volume of that country amounts to $120 billion, and the main trade partners are the countries of the EU, China, and Russia.

The products of energy, metallurgy, extraction and chemical industry, and agriculture make up the basic export.

With the President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H Nemanja Vasic Musin discussed the possibilities for the improvement of economic cooperation, signing of the agreement on cooperation of the chambers of the two countries, the organization of business meetings of businessmen of the two countries, and the implementation of joint projects.
