Cooperation Between Swedish Government and BiH Prosecution

The BiH Chief State Prosecutor Goran Salihović met the Ambassador of Sweden Bosse Hedberg in Sarajevo today.

tu?ila?tvo bihThe meeting also discussed cooperation between the government of Sweden with the BiH Prosecutor Office, as well as other judicial institutions of BiH.

The Chief Prosecutor spoke to the Ambassador about the current activities of the BiH Prosecutor Office on strengthening the rule of law in BiH, as well as efforts to ensure effective prosecution of perpetrators of war crimes within the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s office.

Ambassador Hedberg said that the Embassy of Sweden always had good cooperation with the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, and through donations and other forms of assistance gave significant support and helped establish the judicial institutions in BiH.

The State Prosecutor expressed gratitude for the support and his belief that the good cooperation will continue in the future, and that Sweden would support the work of the judicial institutions of BiH, especially in the area of the future increase of the capacity of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.

Further cooperation and support of the Swedish government in establishing and strengthening the rule of law and BiH judicial institutions was agreed on at the meeting.
