Council of Ministers of BiH decides on Distribution of Two Million BAM for Vaccines

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed the Decision on the distribution of 10 million BAM from the budget of BiH institutions intended for repairing the economic damages caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which will be directed to the health sector in BiH.

The funds will be allocated to the entities and the Brčko District of BiH, namely to the Federation of BiH with 10 cantons 61%, the Republika Srpska 37% and the Brčko District BiH 2%.

At the session, a decision was made to approve a multi-year project to finance the costs of contractual arrangements for the procurement of health countermeasures against Covid-19 for the period 2020-2022 and the use of funds from the Budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina and BiH’s international obligations for 2020 in the amount of 2,000 .000 BAM.

These funds are intended to cover the costs incurred in the process of procurement of vaccines in BiH, including, inter alia, delivery, import and distribution of vaccines against Covid-19, costs of transport, storage, and quality assurance. Another 13 million BAM was approved by the Council of Ministers of BiH by today’s Decision on the distribution of funds from the budget of BiH institutions intended for repairing economic damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic for clinical centers, four million BAM for the University Clinical Center in Banja Luka, 3.5 million BAM for the University Clinical Center Sarajevo and the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, and 1.5 million BAM for the University Clinical Center Tuzla and 500 thousand BAM for the Public Health Institution – Hospital in the Brčko District of BiH.

In total, the Council of Ministers of BiH has allocated around 40 million BAM for the health sector in the entities and the Brcko District this year.
