Yesterday was celebrated 25 years of membership of BiH in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with a solemn session of the State Commission for Cooperation of BiH with UNESCO.

Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Adil Osmanovic, and Head of the Office of UNESCO in Sarajevo, Sinisa Sesum, noted the good co-operation of this ministry with UNESCO for more than two decades, during which were realized important projects.

They also stated that every element of heritage of BiH that has been inscribed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO has great significance for the preservation and promotion of rich cultural and historical heritage.

The certificates on the entry of Sarajevo Haggadah and the Collection of Manuscripts of Gazi Husrev-bey’s Library in UNESCO Memory of the World Register were presented as part of the celebration of this important anniversary.

Furthermore, the certificate of entry of Konjic woodcarving to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity was handed over as well.

Thank you notes for contribution to the preservation and promotion of the good cultural heritage and the promotion of goals of UNESCO in BiH were awarded at the ceremony as well.
