norveska_stecciA collection of 40 selected inscriptions from tombstones and their translations “Tombstones – Do not disturb my bones ( Bosnian epitaphs 1200-1500) is jointly created by Dina Abazović and Øyvind Berg and is recently published in Norway, from one of the leading publishing house Oktober Forlag, Oslo.

“The book is a collection of 40 selected inscriptions from tombstones and their translations – on the left side is the transcription of inscriptions in Bosnian language and on the right side the  translation into Norwegian (that is the bilingual section of the book  and the rest is in Norwegian language). Below the translations are the short texts of various contents: historical, geographical, biographical, linguistic data, an explanation of the translations, notes. Before them is a brief preface. Following them is a after word in which is presented a historical overview of the situation in the medieval Bosnian state; the discussion of the Bosnian Church, Bogomils, Bosančica”, stated the co-author of the book Dina Abazović.

The book is enriched with the alphabet pictures (Bosančica and Norwegian) and several inscriptions, in order to be seen how it all looks. The emphasis is on writing form and not on the decorations.
