The country with most streets named after the former president of SFRY Josip Broz Tito is Italy – there are streets named after him in a total of 11 cities.
In Croatia, besides Zagreb that is conducting preparations to rename the Square of Marsal Tito, streets, squares and promenades named after Tito also exist in Buzet, Karlovac, Labin, Matulj, Rijeka, Rovinj and Velika Gorica.
When it comes to other countries on the territory of the former SFRY, after Croatia, the largest number of cities with streets and squares named after Tito has BiH – a total of 15 of them.
Next are Serbia and Slovenia with 13, Macedonia with 8, and Montenegro with 5 streets.
Outside Europe, the most of streets and squares named after Tito exist in Africa.
The public areas named after Tito also exist in cities of Angola and Egypt, and when it comes to Asia, streets named after the former president of SFRY exist in New Delhi, Goji and Omsk.
There is also an avenue with Tito’s name in Sao Paulo in Brazil, two streets in Cyprus – namely in Limassol and Dalí, and there is the Square of Josip Broz Tito in Moscow as well.
There is also an asteroid named after Tito, the famous “1550 Tito”.
