The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has extended the detention of former Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić for two months.

As announced, the Court issued a decision partially accepting the proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Nešić’s detention was extended until May 20 or until a new decision of the Court.

An appeal against this decision does not postpone its execution.

An appeal against this decision is allowed to the Appellate Panel of this Court within three days from the date of receipt of the decision, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

As a reminder, on March 19, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted a proposal to extend the detention measure against suspect Nenad Nešić for the next three months.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested three months of detention in order to question the necessary witnesses and continue the financial investigation that has been initiated.

Due to the possession of property in Serbia and Montenegro, they requested that an international investigation be conducted, while the defense believed that there was no need to extend the detention.

The suspects in the case Esad Avdić and others are charged with the criminal offenses of Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Offenses, Money Laundering, Abuse of Official Position or Authority, and Accepting Bribes.

Nešić is charged with corruption while serving as the director of the Republika Srpska Roads.
