The President of the Court BiH, Ranko Debevec, on Thursday met with the outgoing Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador H.E. Bruce G. Berton, and discussed the projects and activities the OSCE Mission to BiH has been implementing in collaboration with the Court of BiH and judicial institutions for the purpose of strengthening the rule of law.

During Ambassador Berton’s farewell visit to the Court of BiH, President Debevec voiced his gratitude for Ambassador Berton’s significant contribution to the successful cooperation on both personal and institutional levels, stressing that the Court of BiH will continue to provide full support for the OSCE’s war crimes trial monitoring project. President Debevec also noted the importance of the strong and reliable support the OSCE Mission to BiH has been providing to the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Berton said he was thankful for the trust and very good and professional cooperation during the implementation of project activities, stressing the Court’s key role in the administration of justice.

H.E. Berton and President Debevec agreed that the key issues of the status and independence of judges should be adequately regulated by law.

President Debevec thanked Ambassador Berton for his efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and wished him success in his further career and activities.
