covicMember of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Edi Rama in Drač, Albania.

Čović and Rama talked about relations between the two countries and together they reached a conclusion that, although relations are friendly, there is space for improvement in several fields.

They also discussed the status of Albanian residents who originate from BiH, more than 10.000 of them. Čović said that it would be good to give this group a status of national minority, as it is the case with Albanians in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

European integration was one of the topics at the meeting. Prime Minister Rama informed Čović that the Government of Albania expects the start of negotiations soon, after a part of conditions has been met.

Dragan Čović will meet with the President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov in Ohrid, Macedonia tomorrow.
