The 29th (telephone) session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia was held at which the Decision on sending humanitarian aid to the population in flood-affected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted.

“The Government of the Republic of Croatia, taking into account the scale of the natural disaster in Bosnia and Herzegovina, decided to allocate funds in the amount of 10 million euros to provide urgent assistance in the rehabilitation of the consequences of floods and to help rebuild the infrastructure and provide basic necessities for the victims and evacuees,” it was announced from the Government.

“This financial aid will be sent to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the purposes of assisting the population in flood-affected areas. At the same time, the Government tasks the state administration bodies to, within their competences, consider the possibilities and take appropriate steps to provide assistance to the population in flood-affected areas, and in accordance with the request on seeking international assistance”.

“Croatia strongly stands by neighboring and friendly Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been affected by catastrophic floods. With financial aid in the amount of 10 million euros, Croatia actively participates in sending rescue teams and equipment needed for the rehabilitation of the terrain, and remains ready and open for all others forms of aid in accordance with the needs of the BiH authorities. We once again express our solidarity and deep sympathy with all those affected by this serious tragedy,” said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

The Government of the Republic of Croatia, all emergency services, competent institutions and ministries are in constant communication with their colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina and are carefully monitoring the development of the situation.

Croatia is ready to act through the Directorate of Civil Protection, fire brigades, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, as well as through the Croatian Red Cross, depending on the form of assistance requested by the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
