Currently, there is a great demand for seasonal workers in the Adriatic sea, and catering is the focus of interest. Social networks are flooded with ads in which the owners of catering facilities, with the obligatory indication “urgent”, are looking for workers and promise salaries from 1.000 to 1.500 euros, plus bonuses.
It is also an opportunity for workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to earn more money at a time when the owners of catering facilities in our country are closing their facilities because they cannot cope with the daily increase in prices. Also, an additional problem is the departure of people, who see their chance across the border, so it is increasingly difficult to find a worker to work in the hospitality industry.
As it was found out, in the Croatian Ministry of the Interior, from the beginning of this year to May 31st, most residence and work permits were issued to citizens of BiH, more than 16.000.
Almost 60 percent of work permits are issued for jobs in the construction industry, while 15 percent are for catering and tourism.
Selma Isabegovic, an employee of the Agency “ManpowerGroup BiH“, which mediates in the employment of our citizens abroad, was interviewed.
As she explained, there are hundreds of applications for seasonal work in Croatia, and most often those are people who currently do not have a job in BiH, but also those who want to replace their current job with a better one.
