Croatian HNS to lunch an Initiative for BiH to recognize Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel

In the coming period, the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) will launch an official initiative for Bosnia and Herzegovina to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel, which is an issue that causes numerous controversies in the world.

This initiative is announced after the Embassy of Israel in Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Tirana supported the Croatian proposal to amend the Election Law in an official document.

“This is the minimum we can do in order to thank our friends in Israel for the direct support they gave to the efforts of the democratic forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina so that every nation or community, regardless of their size, has the right to independently decide who will be their legitimate representatives,” one of the interlocutors stated for the Croatian Media Service.

As stated, this initiative should be sent to the state level.

“We are aware that Bosniak politics will oppose this in view of the support it gives to the Palestinian side and in view of today’s offensive statement by Bakir Izetbegovic about Israel, but I think it is our moral obligation. I assume that Serbian politics should support this proposal of ours.” the HNS source pointed out.

If the initiative is not adopted at the state level, then, according to sources, the HNS will independently recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel with its declaration.

“Although it is not a matter of classical recognition of the state, let our friends in Israel know that an entire constituent nation recognizes their aspirations for Jerusalem as the capital,” he said.
