Croatian Plane arrived in North Macedonia to extinguish Fires

The HRZ firefighting plane that took off from the “Colonel Mirko Vukušić” barracks today at around 12:00 has arrived in the Republic of North Macedonia in order to provide international humanitarian assistance in extinguishing the fire, announced the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia.

From the “Colonel Mirko Vukušić” barracks, two crews and accompanying aviation technical personnel, a total of 10 members of the Croatian Air Force, led by captains, colonel Milan Došen and colonel Željko Maljko, were sent to the Republic of North Macedonia.

The commander of the 855th firefighting squadron of the 93rd wing of the HRZ, Colonel Darko Kučej, said that after receiving the notification, all the necessary preparations were made for the flight from the barracks “Colonel Mirko Vukušić” Zemunik Donji to Skopje, and that the crews were ready to carry out the tasks that await them on the field.

The Ministry of Defense states that the Canadair CL-415 aircraft from the Specially Organized Firefighting Forces was sent to the Republic of North Macedonia to provide humanitarian assistance in extinguishing fires based on the Order of the Vice President of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić, Hina writes.
