A bus carrying Inditex workers crashed on Tuesday and became stuck at the exit of a tunnel in a nearly vertical position in Pineda de Mar, 120 kilometers from Barcelona, injuring dozens of passengers and leaving three people in critical condition, authorities said.

The bus was traveling between Barcelona and Tordera in Spain’s northeastern region of Catalonia, where the owner of fashion brand Zara has a factory, Xavier Amor, the mayor of Pineda de Mar, told national TVE. There were 52 people in the vehicle.

Three passengers were taken by helicopter to hospitals, and dozens of others were treated nearby or taken to health centers in a less serious condition.

No information was available on the cause of the accident. Inditex declined to comment and referred reporters to emergency services.

Traffic officials have warned motorists to avoid the area as work to remove the bus is expected to take several hours.
