The jersey of the now former captain of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Džeko, which he wore in his last game in the jersey of the national team, was sold at a humanitarian auction for around 50,000 euros (95,100 convertible marks).
The auction took place with intense competition from several bidders, and the winning bid was 95,100 BAM.
The entire amount will be directed to the Fund for the treatment of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Sportsmen for Life”, whose co-founder is Džeko.
“In this way, this historical jersey not only carries an inestimable emotional and sporting value, but also brings hope and direct help to those who need treatment the most,” stated the humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba.
They thanked all the participants of the auction, especially the person who offered the highest amount, who expressed the desire to remain anonymous.
Džeko, one of the most important football players in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the co-founder of a fund that provides support to citizens who need funds for treatment.
We remind you that the legendary captain of the national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ended his national career. Džeko said goodbye to the national team jersey at the beginning of the month at the League of Nations match against Sweden, at the stadium “Bilino Polje” in Zenica, after 152 appearances and 73 goals in the jersey of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
