In a statement to the media during the marking of the 20th generation of cadets of the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, once again referred to the work of the High Representative Christian Schmidt, as well as the possibility of Croatian forces participating in EUFOR.
Referring to the statement of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, who previously invited Schmidt to use the Bonn powers, Milanović said:
“And what have I been doing for the last year? Time is of the essence. You do some things on time or you don’t do them,” he repeated his position on the senselessness of the high representative’s mandate and that he makes decisions that are exclusively against Croats.
Milanović said in a familiar tone: “Do you have the authority or not? If you do, why are you giving it to a public debate? And then two thousand rowdies take to the streets, and you panic and go to Germany to marry your daughter. Come on, two thousand Serbs come to Sarajevo, or a Croat from Mostar, so let’s see how it goes”, and at the end, alluding to Plenković’s presentation, he said, “You know how they say, Marko arrives late in Kosovo”.
Milanović again referred to the possible participation of Croatian forces in EUFOR.
“Austrian soldiers are present in BiH, Croatia is not, because someone doesn’t like it? I started to like that we were there” and then added: “There (pointing with his hand) are officers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, of Bosniak nationality, who come every year. Then why do they come to the enemy’s country?”
Milanović then gave the example of Turkey.
“Turkey, which is not the EU, can, but Croatia cannot. Erdogan was my dear guest and said that Dayton should be abolished. And his army can be in BiH. Very dull and unusual things are happening.”, Klix.ba writes.
