“Honorable women and men in police uniforms provided the first resistance to the aggressor by bravely defending their fellow citizens. We must not forget any of them. It is our duty, for the sake of new generations, to transmit their voice of courage, determination and patriotism. We also remember Mahmut with the greatest reverence Trako, Elvedin Madeško, Muhidin Pivodić, Davor Vujinović and Adis Šehović, who gave their lives performing honorable police duty in the period after the aggression,” said Katica.

Congratulating Police Day, the minister said that it is the duty of all decision-makers to improve the working conditions of police officers.

“To the question of how we see our police today and tomorrow, we have unequivocal answers: as brave, professional, daring, equipped, modern, ready – the best,” said Katica.

“When we decided to call the police – we decided to put ourselves at the service of citizens, to protect their lives, property and guaranteed freedoms. We are proud of our choice. We have shown even in times of aggression, rebuilding of our city and homeland, pandemic and other challenges that we are ready to respond to all tasks in the service of protecting peace, legal order and order,” Hajdarević pointed out.

As part of the celebration of CS Police Day, a demonstration exercise was performed by members of the Special Police Unit, the Intervention Police Unit and the Operational Support Unit at the base of the Police Support Sector.
