The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, said today that she requested that the military exercise of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Army of Serbia be included in the agenda of the Presidency session, and that the members should make a statement about it before the decision on consent to holding the exercise with members of the US military forces .
Cvijanović reminded that in the previous convocation of the Presidency, the decision to hold the exercise with Serbia was adopted, and that the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sifet Podžić, canceled it, justifying the move by the pandemic.
“This means that the Presidency would re-adopt the decision on that exercise, and then some minister would set it aside on his own initiative. Given that defense is an issue on which you must have a consensus, we did not have it for those points to be on the agenda. It is not just my decision , but all three members to remove it from the agenda,” Cvijanović explained to journalists in Banja Luka.
Cvijanović believes that in this period, exercises of this type should not be held, but that this does not mean that the members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are denied the opportunity to have their own exercises and be ready for what their challenges are.
“I think that times are evil and that all of this can send wrong messages,” Cvijanović concluded.
