The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to BiH Tomaš Szunyog and the Director of the Library for blind and partially blind people in BiH Sakib Pleh signed an Agreement today on the implementation of the project “Supply of books for the blind”.

‘’The project is worth 19.200 KM, which is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Czech Republic. The project entails obtaining 50 new books and technical equipment, particularly computers and lamps for a specialized library’’, said Pleh.

The main goal of the project is to improve living conditions and the possibility of better education for blind and partially blind people.

Ambassador Szunyog said that the project is being implemented with the support of small projects of the Czech Embassy in Sarajevo.

‘’In response to the public appeal to support small projects 284 applications were received, and from that number the Czech Embassy was able to support a total of 12 project proposals. It is about support of local development initiatives, and the total worth of all small projects in BiH in 2013 amounts to 181.700 KM’’, said Szunyog.

Apart from the library, he added that the city organization for blind people in Banja Luka with the project of procurement programs and office equipment for learning English are supported.

An agreement was also signed today with the Association for Education in BiH, where they will support the education of around 73 Roma children in 4 primary schools in Visoko (grades 1-4).

With this project, they will obtain textbooks and computer worth 19.140 KM.

For projects of bilateral developmental cooperation between Czech Republic and BiH around 3 million euros will be allocated.
