Representatives of political, public and cultural spheres of BiH congratulated to director Danis Tanović and team of film ‘An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker’, which won two Silver Bear awards at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, but also special award of Ecumenical jury of the festival.
As an opening speaker of the Association of Independent Intellectuals ‘Circle 99’ (Kruk 99) Damir Nikšić said : ‘Danis Tanović’s film ‘An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker’ and awards that it received at Berlin Film Festival is an example of engaged art in BiH’
President of BiH Cinematography Foundation Amer Kapetanović said that the awards the film received are the proof that this film was recognized for its powerful social and human appeal, but also for its artistic delicacy.
‘In the name of the Foundation, I congratulate to Tanović and to best actor of Berlin Film Festival Nazif Mujkić and to Amra Bakšić-Čamo, Senada Alimanović, Čedomir Kolar and the entire team for this significant award’, said Kapetanović.
Manager of Sarajevo Winter Festival Ibrahim Spahić also congratulated Tanović and the entire team of the film for the award.
‘Once again, Tanović showed the best possible way to represent BiH’, said Spahić.
Chairman of BiH Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda congratulated Tanović and said that both the director and the team of the film showed that BiH is a country where good films are made and that BiH film industry is not lagging behind with greater and richer industries of other European countries.
‘I wish you that all your future successes become our joy as well’, said Bevanda.
