Final EUFOR two weeks exercise “Rapid Response 2″ was the day of high invitational, which was yesterday held in the barracks of the Armed Forces B&H “Livač” in Mostar.
The commander of the command element of the EU in B&H Lieutenant General Leonardo di Marco at the press conference congratulated the Commander of EUFOR Major General Dieter Heidecker for “excellent leadership and successful execution of exercises“.
Di Marco said that the training of the Armed Forces of B&H and the ability to maintain safe and secure environment constitutes the core mission of the EUFOR. He added that the support to the Armed Forces of B&H to build a self-sustaining system and facilitating joint training contributes to the achievement of international standards.
In this exercise, there were engaged two companies of light infantry, one from Austria and one from Slovakia, with which has increased the number of troops under the control of EUFOR in about 250 soldiers.
Visitors had the opportunity to see examples of weapons and equipments that are used in various countries and the military exercise was a demonstration of military capabilities, such as the security of areas affected by civil troubles and tactics for control of crowd and conflicts.
