Day of Mourning in the Federation of BiH Today

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today’s emergency session, adopted a Decision declaring March 18, 2025, a Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the tragedy in North Macedonia.

The decision was made to express condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of the tragedy that occurred on March 15, 2025 in the town of Kočani in North Macedonia, when at least 59 people lost their lives in a fire.

The Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory display of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, or at the mast, on the buildings of legislative, executive and judicial authorities, public institutions, institutions and other legal entities in the territory of the Federation of BiH.

On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in the Federation of BiH, and media outlets in the territory of the Federation of BiH are obliged to harmonize and adapt their program content to the Day of Mourning.
