At the opening of the sixth edition of the Season of Italian Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), famous Italian cant author will hold a tour, which will encompass Sarajevo (September 16th), Banja Luka (September 18th) and Mostar (September 20th). The three concerts, with the invitations of the Embassy, will be held in the National Theaters of these three cities.

“This selection isn’t accidental,” Ambassador Nicola Minasi said,” considering that Capossela was always close to the Balkans, especially Bosnia. Namely, in his first novel “Non si muore tutte le mattine (Ne umire se svakog jutra)” is about Sarajevo after the war, as well as its style and folk sound have a lot of common elements with the musical tradition of this space.”

Vinicio Capossela is, according to that, an ideal artist for presenting the closeness between Italian traditional music and Balkan traditional music, as well as proof that light and popular music of these spheres belong in the same culture.

The tour will offer an opportunity to Vinicio Caposseli to present his historical success from the past as well as promote his last album “Pjesme Cupe” which were recorded in various time period over 10 years and which are presented as a synthesis of the artist’s activities, in which he talks about folklore in the rural and mythological world, in small places in the inner part of the country, beginning with his place Irpinije, a land which reminds one of BiH.

In order to provide the best possible understanding of the meaning and depth of the song, the Embassiy, along with students of Italian at the University in Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka prepared a booklet with the texts of the songs and translation to the local language, which will allow an even better interaction with the public.
