From 15-18 August in Trebinje, a conference called ‘Days of Herzegovina’ will be held, with the aim to promote the economic potential of Herzegovina and Podrinje, as well as the RS, and to attract foreign investors and to create new jobs.
From the organizing conference committee, which is being held for the first time, it was announced at the gathering that the participation of people from the RS who have their companies or work in companies abroad that could be potential investors are expected.
“One of the results of the conference is to increase the awareness in the diaspora and abroad of the development potential of the region of old Herzegovina, as well as the RS, and such an event is an excellent opportunity to find representatives in one place of municipal institutions, representatives of the diaspora, chambers of commerce, business people from the region and BiH, as well as representatives of embassies in BiH’’, said in a statement.
Organizers expect problems to be identified at round tables, panel discussion, and presentations during the conference, and to find strategic directions for development and effective cooperation.
In addition to the economy, the conference has other social goals in terms of the promotion and preservation of cultural and other values and traditions. During the gathering, visits to tourist destinations of this area and wine cellars will be organized.
On the last day of the conference in Trebinje, a fair for wine and honey will be held, while in Nevesinje the famous Nevesinje Olympics will be held, which is being held this year for the 138th time.
Hosts and those involved in the organization of the conference include the municipalities of Bileća, Berkovići, Čajniče, foča, Gacko, Novo Goražde, Istočni Mostar, Kalinovnik, Ljubinje, Nevesinje, Rogatica, Rudo, Trebinje and Višegrad.
