ustavni sud rs bhrt.baCouncil for protection of vital national interest of the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska decided that the vital national interest of Bosniak nation was not violated by the decision on the referendum on the Day of RS in the smaller BiH entity.

In other words, it means that there is no obstacle for authorities of the RS to publish a decision on the referendum in the Official Gazette of RS, thus making it effective.

With 63 votes “for”, during the voting in July delegates in the National Assembly of RS adopted the Draft decision which states that the referendum on the day of the smaller BiH will be held on September 25 and that it will be organized at the territory of the entire Republika Srpska.

The referendum question is “Do you support the marking of January 9 as the Day of Republika Srpska?”.

Head of Bosniaks in the Council of Nations in Republika Srpska Mujo Hadžiomerović said that the Caucus of BiH has already announced such decision.

Hadžiomerović reiterated that the caucus of Bosniaks remains adamant and that decisions brought in the smaller BiH entity on the referendum are not in accordance with the Dayton Peace Accords, and thus not in accordance with the Constitution of BiH.

“We will use all legal mechanisms and, of course, we will appeal to the Constitutional Court of BiH after this decision is published in the Official Gazette in the RS. I think is the end time to reform the judiciary in the RS,” Hadžiomerović concluded.
