Bjelašnica nap.baThe Olympic beauty Bjelašnica is filled with foreign tourists who visit the villages of Bjelašnica and they certainly enjoy the natural beauties of this mountain.

Untouched nature, with crystal clear creeks and rivers, attracts more and more tourists from Europe and the Arab countries. One of the most interesting villages is Lukomir, located 1.472 meters above sea level. The village is unique for its stone houses covered with shingles made of cherry tree. The village can be reached with a minibus from Ilidža, i.e. you can get to the village Sinanovići by bus, and then walk along the marked route.

Visitors can also reach the village by car, but only during the summer. Locals in the villages of Bjelašnica say that summers on Bjelašnica are especially attractive to foreigners, even more than winters, and many of them rented weekend houses to the tourists who visit this mountain.

Although there are still no significant hospitality facilities in these villages, visitors will not leave hungry, because there are some lovely locals who will be happy to offer lunch.

Several other villages that can be visited are located in the vicinity of Lukomir, including Umoljani, Šabići, Sinanovići, Bobovica, Rakitnica, Tušila, Brda and several mountain lodges.

Locals in Brdo village say that guests mostly come from Arab countries and France this year. Entire families come and stay for ten days sometimes.

“More and more local residents from BiH come to Bjelašnica. Some of them enjoy riding four-wheelers, some enjoy hiking, water, nature. At night you can see wild rabbits, owls, wild pigs, and tourists enjoy watching animals in nature,” said one resident of Brda.
