The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, met on Saturday in Sarajevo with the delegation of the American Congress led by congressmen Greg Murphy and Marc Veasey.
Key issues for security, stability and economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed at the meeting.
The interlocutors pointed out that the security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina are one of the basic prerequisites for attracting new investments and creating a more favorable business environment.
They also discussed the upcoming elections, which will be held for the first time in our country with the use of new election technologies. It is expected that their application will contribute to greater transparency of the election process, more realistic determination of election results and reduction of the possibility of election fraud.
Special attention is paid to the Southern Interconnection project, as an important infrastructure project that should contribute to the diversification of natural gas supply sources, energy security, but also to the economic growth and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting also discussed the issue of state property, emphasizing the need to find a sustainable solution that will protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but at the same time enable the opening of new investment opportunities and stronger economic development of the country.
The meeting was also attended by John Ginkel, chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
