Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sefik Dzaferovic spoke on the occasion of the death of the French intellectual Paul Garde and pointed out that he received with sadness the news of the death of a great friend of BiH.
French intellectual and Slavist Paul Garde passed away yesterday at the age of 95 in Paris, and Sefik Dzaferovic, BiH Presidency member, said goodbye to Garde in selected words.
“I received with sadness the news of the death of Paul Garde, a prominent French intellectual and Slavist, and a great friend of BiH. In the moments when it was most difficult, Garde was with the citizens of BiH, making a clear distinction between the aggressor and the victim, while criticizing the passive attitude of the international community towards the crimes committed during the aggression against BiH, ” told Dzaferovic.
He noted that now he sympathizes with the family and friends of Paul Garde in these difficult moments.
“By advocating military intervention with other French and European intellectuals to stop aggression and crime, Garde was trying to save Europe’s conscience at a time when many were silently watching the darkest scenes on European soil since World War II. I sympathize with Paul Garde’s family and friends in these difficult times for them, ” stated the member of the Presidency of BiH, Sefik Dzaferovic, Klix.ba writes.
