The OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Mission) calls on all competent authorities to respect and implement binding court decisions, protect the independence of the judiciary and ensure the functioning and independence of the BHRT ahead of the elections.

“Public RTV services play a particularly important role during elections, providing citizens with reliable information necessary for making informed decisions. In addition to the urgent measures necessary to ensure the continuous functioning of BHRT, it is necessary to establish a sustainable long-term framework for public broadcasting, along with strong mechanisms to protect its independence,” the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

They also call on all public officials, candidates and political parties to respect the freedom of the media and ensure a stimulating environment in which journalists can freely and independently perform their work during the election period.
