Decrease recorded in Total Seasonally adjusted Industrial Production in BiH

Total seasonally adjusted industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2018, compared to November 2018, is decreased by 2.6%.

In December 2018, compared to December 2017, industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the calendar adjusted, is decreased by 2.1%.

According to data from BiH Agency for Statistics, in December 2018, compared to November 2018, production of Consumer durables increased by 12.6%, production of Energy increased by 0.8%, while production of Intermediate goods decreased by 3.2%, Consumer non-durables decreased by 4.2%, and production of Capital goods decreased by 5.6%.

In December 2018 compared to December 2017, production of Consumer durables increased by 15.6%, production of Energy increased by 0.1%, while production of Consumer non-durables decreased by 2.4%, production of Intermediate goods decreased by 3.8%, and production of Capital goods decreased by 5.6%.

Monthly comparison

According to sections of KD BiH 2010, seasonally adjusted industrial production in December 2018 compared to November 2018 in section Manufacturing decreased by 1.1%, in section Electricity and gas supply decreased by 3.5%, and in section Mining and quarrying decreased by 6.4%.

Annual comparison

In December 2018, compared to December 2017, calendar adjusted industrial production increased in section Electricity and gas supply by 0.5%, while in section Manufacturing decreased by 1.9%, in section Mining and quarrying decreased by 5.7%.

Broken down by divisions of activities (rates are calculated from seasonally adjusted indices) in December 2018 compared to November 2018, the highest growth is recorded in division 12 – Manufacture of tobacco products (68.3%) and division 19 – Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (63.4%). The largest decline in industrial production in December 2018 compared to November this year was recorded in division 26 – Manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (35.7%) and division 08 – Other mining and quarrying (18.9%).

Broken down by divisions of activities (rates are calculated from calendar adjusted indices) in December 2018 compared to December 2017, the highest growth is recorded in the following divisions: division 19 – Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (97.6%) and division 12 – Manufacture of tobacco products (42.1%). The largest decline in industrial production in December 2018 compared to December 2017, was recorded in the following divisions: division 13 – Manufacture of textiles (55.2%) and division 26 – Manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (22.5%).

Total seasonally adjusted industrial production in Brcko District in December 2018, compared to November 2018, is decreased by 4.8%. Main Industrial Groups: In December 2018, compared to November 2018, production of Energy increased by 3.4%, while production of Consumer non-durables decreased by 4.8%, production of Intermediate goods decreased by 6.6%, production of Consumer durables decreased by 9.4%, and production of Capital goods decreased by 19.1%.

Total industry: In December 2018, compared to December 2017, industrial production in Brcko District, calendar adjusted, increased by 4.1%.
Main Industrial Groups: In December 2018, compared to December 2017, production of Consumer non-durables increased by 27,2% and production of Energy increased by 9,0%, while production of Intermediate goods decreased by 4.0%, production of Capital goods decreased by 17,8%, and production of Consumer durables decreased by 32,9%.
