The delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH today unanimously adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of BiH, proposed by delegate Džemal Smajić.
These amendments raise the age limit for service in the Armed Forces of BiH, and the goal is to modernize the rules of service and align them with NATO standards.
The Speaker of the House of Peoples, Kemal Ademović, recalled that the law was supplemented by an amendment that increases the age limit to 49 years and the maximum length of service to 30 years.
The previously announced agenda was removed from the proposed laws on amendments to the Law on Salaries and Remunerations in the Institutions of BiH, proposed by the House of Representatives.
The decision to remove these items from the agenda was made at the collegium held before the session.
The session is attended by 14 delegates, five each from the Serb and Bosniak Clubs, and four delegates from the Croat Club.
Set of European laws adopted
The delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH today adopted a set of European laws on patents, trademarks, protection of trade secrets as intellectual property rights, protection of topographies of semiconductor products, representation in the field of industrial property rights, and on units of measurement in BiH.
These laws were adopted in an identical text to those adopted by the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH adopted a conclusion returning the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Industrial Design to the Constitutional and Legal Committee to harmonize it and submit it for reconsideration.
Law on Amendments to the Law on the Fundamentals of Road Traffic Safety in BiH Adopted
The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina today adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Fundamentals of Road Traffic Safety in BiH with 11 votes in favor and three against. The debate showed deep differences in the positions of the delegates, especially on the issue of violent driving and the need for a systemic solution.
The adopted amendments provide for stricter sanctions for reckless driving and gross violations of traffic regulations.
After the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH adopted the request of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to consider amendments to the Law on Public Procurement and the Criminal Code under urgent procedure, which was opposed by the delegates of the SNSD and HDZ BiH, a break was given at the request of the Chairman of the Serb Club, Sredoje Nović.
