The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Alen Šeranić said today at the China-Europe Development and Cooperation Forum in Shanghai that the Republika Srpska is open to economic cooperation with China and welcomed all potential partners and investors. He emphasized that the priority of Republika Srpska is to develop infrastructure, improve education and strengthen the economy.

“We believe that with your support and cooperation we can make significant progress in these areas,” Šeranić said at the Forum.

He pointed out that the Republika Srpska, as a strategic partner of the “One Belt One Road” Initiative, has so far, through co-financing of infrastructure projects, such as highways, as well as financing the construction of key power projects, largely participated in cooperation and strengthening of bilateral relations of two countries.

Addressing the participants of the Forum, the Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republika Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, said that the president of that entity, Milorad Dodik, and the government initiated the opening of the representative office of the Republika Srpska in Shanghai.

“The Republika Srpska sees in China a sincere friend and partner in the age of global changes, which is manifested through numerous joint projects and long-term cooperation, and with the opening of the representative office, they will improve even more”, said Klokić.

The delegation of the Republika Srpska is on a multi-day visit to China, during which meetings will be held with representatives of Chinese companies in the field of medicine and biomedicine, and for waste water management, and visits to financial and trade centers are also planned, where business and the possibility of investing in the Republika Srpska will be presented. .

It is planned to present infrastructure projects that are already being implemented in cooperation with Chinese partners, as well as opportunities for future cooperation, according to the joint statement of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska.

The delegation will visit the cities of Suzhou and Hangzhou, where they will have the opportunity to talk with representatives of the largest companies from these regions.

The delegation includes the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to China Siniša Berjan, the Minister of Family, Youth and Sports Selma Čabrić, the Minister of Trade and Tourism Denis Šulić, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Finance, and local communities and public enterprises.

A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republika Srpska, led by the president of the Chamber, Pero Ćorić, is also in Shanghai.

The China-Europe Development and Cooperation Forum is held as part of the China International Import and Export Fair in Shanghai, organized by the Chinese Government and the China International Import-Export Bureau.
The fair, which will last until November 10, is attended by more than 500 Chinese officials and businessmen and will present new technologies, products and services, as well as new market opportunities, Srna reports.
