The heads of the cabinet of the European Union commissioners did not reach an agreement on the recommendation for the opening of accession negotiations in the Progress Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina, BHRT learned from a source in the European Commission.
Earlier, the media speculated that the European Commission supported the opening of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with Moldova and Ukraine, but now it is known that there is great resistance to issuing recommendations for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The main objections relate to, as some assess, the regression of Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of the rule of law.
The report for Bosnia and Herzegovina will be discussed today at the meeting of the European Commission commissioners in Brussels, after which the document on the EU enlargement package is scheduled to be published.
