Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić signed today contracts on co-financing capital investments and projects in the field of social protection in the total value of 3,850,000 BAM. The funds are intended for social work centers, public institutions and non-profit organizations that provide services to vulnerable categories of the population in the Federation of BiH.

This financing was implemented through two capital transfers. The first transfer, worth 1,850,000 BAM, is intended for social work centers and public social protection institutions, with the aim of strengthening their material and technical equipment, improving the functionality of existing facilities, and building new ones. As part of this transfer, 29 centers were provided with funds for permanent and material and technical costs, 11 centers received funds for investment in existing facilities, while three centers, Sapna, Zavidovići and Orašje, received support for the construction of new facilities. Sapna and Zavidovići have been receiving support for the second year in a row under this transfer, and the Minister recently visited both construction sites.

Among the beneficiaries are centers from all parts of the Federation, including Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, Bihać, Mostar, Livno, Goražde, Posušje, Kalesija and other local communities.

The second capital transfer, in the amount of 2,000,000 BAM, is directed at non-profit organizations that provide social services. The funds were approved for the purchase of permanent assets and for investments in existing facilities, and included 26 organizations throughout the Federation. Among them are the Red Cross/Križ Lukavac, the Association “PIPOL”, the Zenica Family Home, MFS-Emmaus, the Association “Heart for Children” Zavidovići, the Gerontological Center Sarajevo, the Association “Oaza”, SUMERO and many others, which work daily with the most vulnerable categories of the population.

“This is certainly a significant individual support to social protection centers and organizations. We are investing in infrastructure, equipment and better quality of work of centers, services and organizations that provide protection and support to our most vulnerable citizens on a daily basis. Our goal is to strengthen the availability of social services in every local community in the Federation of BiH,” said Minister Delić.

Contracts were signed with all beneficiaries today that define the purpose, deadlines and method of spending funds, in order to ensure full transparency and efficient implementation of projects, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced.
