Denmark will donate all its Artillery to Ukraine

Denmark has promised to transfer all its artillery to Ukraine and has called on Europe to unite in support of Kiev.

During the Munich Security Conference in Germany, Danish Prime Minister Mete Frederiksen called on European nations to donate their existing stocks of weapons, ammunition and air defense systems that, in her opinion, should be allocated to Ukraine.

Frederiksen criticized European leaders who, in her opinion, cite problems with arms production as an excuse not to supply weapons to Ukraine, while at the same time urging them to increase production.

“But Ukraine is asking for artillery and ammunition right now. And that’s why I’m sorry, friends, but there is military equipment in Europe. It’s not just a matter of production. We have weapons, we have ammunition and air defense systems. They must be sent to Ukraine,” said Frederiksen, pointing out that Denmark has decided to donate all its artillery.

The announcement comes as Ukraine continues to struggle with severe shortages of personnel and ammunition on the front lines and faces Russian gains in the east of the country.

The Danish Prime Minister called on European countries not to wait for the United States of America (USA) to approve the financing of the Ukrainian armed forces.

“It doesn’t matter what the US comes up with, but we Europeans have to defend ourselves. This is a war on the European continent,” Frederiksen said.

Denmark is among the main arms suppliers to Ukraine’s armed forces, and the country promises to transfer 19 of its F-16 fighter jets by the end of the year, as soon as it finishes training Ukrainian pilots.

Moscow has repeatedly criticized the West for supplying arms to Ukraine, arguing that it only prolongs the conflict, Beta news agency writes.
