Department for providing free legal aid of Sarajevo Canton will be opened today, and it will start working with clients in late June when they hire the needed staff.
This department will enabled that event the poor get the needed protection of their right in the competent institutions, and equal access to justice and efficient protection of their human rights.
Sarajevo Canton Government has secured the space which was rehabilitated with the aid of UNDP.
The law on free legal aid of Sarajevo Canton was adopted by the Sarajevo Canton Assembly in January 2012.
Minister of Justice of the Canton Velida Memić , manager of the Department Velija Nuhanović and chief of UNDP Justice and Security Department in BiH Amela Ćosović-Medić will attend the opening ceremony.
