Dino Beganovic To Drive For Scuderia Ferrari Hp In First Free Practice In Bahrain!

Dino Beganovic is set for a packed weekend in Bahrain. The 21-year-old Swedish-Bosnia driver from the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy will compete in the second round of the Formula 2 championship with Hitech Grand Prix while also making his official Formula 1 debut. He will take the wheel of Charles Leclerc’s SF-25 during the first free practice session, fulfilling an FIA regulation that requires each F1 team to run a young driver—one with fewer than two F1 race starts—twice per season, an increase from last year’s single session.

Fifth Ferrari Academy Driver

On Friday, April 11, Beganovic will become the fifth Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy member to participate in an official session, following Charles and Arthur Leclerc, Robert Shwartzman, and Oliver Bearman.

A Ferrari Academy member since 2020, Beganovic will also be the second Swedish driver to represent Ferrari in Formula 1, following Stefan Johansson, who raced for the team in 1985 and 1986, securing six podium finishes in 31 starts.

While legendary Swedish driver Ronnie Peterson never raced in Formula 1 for Ferrari, he did achieve multiple endurance victories with the Ferrari 312 P in the 1970s, Ferrari writes.
