The event, named after the subtitle of the novel The Bosnian Chronicle by Nobel laureate Ivo Andric, is being held for the fourth consecutive time with the goal of presenting the cultural heritage of Travnik to the diplomatic corps through themes from Andric’s prose works.
The theme of this year’s event is the short story “The Story of the Vizier’s Elephant,” and the program includes an artistic performance in front of the sculpture “The Vizier’s Elephant” by academic sculptor Dejan Pranjkovic, a performance by actor Matej Baskarad in the role of Ivo Andric, as well as stage performances by young members of the Travnik Theater Workshop.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see contemporary dance performed by Hana Zrno and Emir Fejzic and listen to sevdalinka songs performed by Zanin Berbic and Adis Sirbubalo.
The event The Consular Times aims to affirm the cultural and historical identity of Travnik as the former capital of BiH, through the literary legacy of one of the most significant writers of this region, the organizers announced.
