Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, which gathered over 40 Embassies, officially ended

The largest annual fund-raising diplomatic event, the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, gathered over 40 embassies and 70 exhibitors with the purpose of raising money for charitable projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year’s proceedings will be given to three types of disadvantaged children: children with special needs, orphaned children, and vulnerable students and youth.

Visitors to the EU stand had the opportunity to make cherished memories in the Winter Wonderland photo session, and try their luck in the Reindeer Ring Toss and Poke a Tree activities. In addition, the staff of the EU Delegation to BiH/Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH, and EU Info Centre, prepared interactive and interesting gifts and activities in order to raise funds for charity.

Last year, the Bazaar raised more than 200,000 BAM and supported over 20 organisations, and, based on the variety of activities, success and number of visitors this year, the organisers hope they will break last year’s record.

Bazaar is a traditional winter family charity event organized by members of the international community in BiH in cooperation with local communities and the bazaar was supported by Sarajevo Canton Government and the City of Sarajevo.

Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka commended engagement and effort put in this project.

“All diplomatic offices in Sarajevo, all the lovely ladies, ambassadors’ wives who take part in this humanitarian mission showed they are willing to become part of our community,” said Skaka, fully supporting this mission.
