Direct Flights Between Mostar and Istanbul to Launch in June

Mostar and Istanbul will soon be connected by a direct air route, and the first flight is scheduled for June 4th, 2025.

This long-awaited route is the result of months of negotiations and cooperation between the City of Mostar and representatives of the Republic of Turkey.

As announced by the City Administration of Mostar, flights will initially operate once a week, while in the future, depending on passenger interest and capacity occupancy, an expansion to two weekly rotations is planned.

“It is extremely important for Mostar to establish a regular air connection with Istanbul, and the City of Mostar will do everything to make this route successful and sustainable in the long term,”stated the City Administration.

It is added that the first steps were taken less than a year ago, when a meeting was held with the Turkish delegation.

At that meeting, the Assistant Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey, Enver Iskurt, emphasized his country’s commitment to cooperation on this project.

Thanks to that support and joint work, the route has been successfully agreed upon and is ready for operational launch.

“Not so long ago, we had zero routes and zero passengers. I believe that these concrete moves will motivate our fellow citizens to recognize the importance of working on integration and coexistence,” stated the City of Mostar.
