The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon be connected with Oslo and Stockholm by direct lines.

The direct connection with the Scandinavian countries is the result of a public call for subsidizing air traffic in the area of Sarajevo Canton, which is implemented by the Government of Sarajevo Canton in cooperation with the Tourist Board of CS and Sarajevo International Airport.

The committee for expert evaluation determined that one timely application was received for the public call, and it is about the airline company Norwegian Air As.

The public invitation, which was open until February 12, 2024, aims to develop tourism, establish new destinations and increase the number of passengers.

Previously, through public calls, Sarajevo received several new direct air connections or increased the number of departures to destinations of strategic importance, and as the ultimate goal of this project, Sarajevo will be directly connected to 12 attractive destinations: Milan, Gothenburg, London, Memmingen, Brussels, Thessaloniki, Antalya , Izmir, Athens, Skopje, Oslo and Stockholm, Klix.ba writes.
