At the headquarters of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, the ceremonial opening ceremony of the Operational Center of the Directorate was held, attended by Director of the Directorate Mirsad Vilic and US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack, who, on behalf of the US Embassy in BiH, donated 400,000 USD worth of equipment for the Operational Center.
The director of the BiH Police Coordination Directorate Mirsad Vilic said that this Operational Center will systematically improve the security situation for all citizens in BiH, primarily in preserving internal security, the rule of law and the development of democracy in BiH society.
“The Directorate is the first police agency in BiH that has established a digital radio system, which says enough about the importance of this project. Thanks to the digital connection system, we have established a radio communication system that meets all the needs of the Directorate,” Vilic emphasized at today’s ceremony.
US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack said that the United States supports all initiatives that contribute to the security of all citizens in BiH and donated equipment worth 400,000 USD, consisting of radio and video equipment for the needs of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and its operational center.
“The Directorate plays an important role when it comes to security in BiH, and its employees provide more than 100 international facilities, as well as other facilities located on the territory of the FBiH and RS. One of the key things in modern security is communication and coordination, and I think that this equipment will all be better able to work in the whole of BiH. This donation will help the Directorate better respond to crises, whether they are natural disasters or terrorist attacks,” Cormack said.
