1.martOn occasion of 1 March, the Day of B&H Independence, last night in the B&H Presidency in Sarajevo a reception was organized, and the host of the reception for representatives of governmental institutions, international community, public and cultural life of B&H was Chairperson of the B&H Presidency Željko Komšić. At the beginning of the reception, everyone was informed that member of the B&H Presidency Bakir Izetbegović was not able to take part because he was undergoing intensive postoperative treatment for his eye.

At the beginning, Chairperson of the B&H Presidency Željko Komšić congratulated 1 March, the Day of B&H Independence, to the citizens of B&H, stating that this is a great day in the history of this country and is significant in many ways.

‘’One of the dates that could certainly be considered a milestone in the millennium history of B&H’’, said Komšić.

He added that it is worth it to celebrate this day ‘’regardless that it is not on the whole territory of B&H, with the hope that one day it will be, that all of us who live in this country will accept 1 March 1992 as an important moment in the history of this country and all the peoples and citizens of B&H’’.

‘’Given that next year will mark 20 years since the end of the war in B&H, I would like to express hope that after all these events that B&H has gone through in its turbulent history as an independent country, B&H will finally enter a phase as a normal and a stable democratic country’’, said Komšić.

Stating that 2014 is an election year, he said that he hopes, regardless of what happens in the elections this year, B&H will receive a government that will understand the importance of the moment in which we find ourselves.

‘’Because certainly, that is what it looks like from this place, to enter in a new phase, a new time for B&H. How good or how bad it will be, will depend on all of us, above all on the people that are chosen and who decide to run this country’’, said Chairperson Komšić.

‘’I wish you all the best, with the wish for B&H to celebrate many more days of independence’’, he added.

‘”We have a reason to be proud of this day and we have a reason to celebrate it’’, said Komšić.
