Disbelief and Sadness in Kalesija as Police Suspect Suicide of the Accused

Inela Selimović and her 13-year-old son were strangled – the autopsy determined. The search for the murderer Emir Selimović is still ongoing. The police suspect that he committed suicide. Tomorrow is a day of mourning in Kalesija, on the day of the funeral of the murdered.

The autopsy findings of Inela Selimović and her thirteen-year-old son confirmed the assumption about the cause of their death, as well as specified the time when they were killed.

“According to the preliminary autopsy results, which the forensic expert verbally communicated to the TK Prosecutor’s Office, the death of Inela Selimović from Kalesija and her thirteen-year-old son occurred as a result of strangulation. The woman also had two injuries to the head. According to the autopsy, they were killed on February 12 in the morning hours,” the TK Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The operational search for the suspect Emir Selimović, Inela’s ex-husband and the father of the murdered child, is still ongoing. It is focused on the area of ​​Lake Drenova near Prnjavor. The Special Anti-Terrorist Units of the RS Ministry of Interior are involved in the search. Diving teams are searching the lake. There is a suspicion that Selimović committed suicide.

As a reminder, traces of the suspect were found at that location, and the vehicle in which Selimović fled the scene of the crime was also found in the Prnjavor area. In Kalesija, disbelief and grief over the murdered mother and son still reign today. The words spoken about the murdered thirteen-year-old in his school and football club are particularly touching.

“He brought joy to his students, he was cheerful, he brought a smile, a bright spirit, he was positive and he mainly directed his positivity, according to his interests, to sports activities and in that area he was truly an example to other students,” points out Hamdija Bajrić, the teacher of the murdered boy.

“He was one of the greatest talents of our football school. His career was on an upward trajectory, which was noticed by the people at FK Tuzla City, who invited him to their pioneer selection, for which he defended in Sarajevo, he passed the trial and was to become a member of Tuzla City, which was a great pride of our club, our entire city”, says football coach Fuad Alić.

Many individuals, as well as numerous sports organizations and clubs, are still saying goodbye to the boy with emotional messages via social networks.
