Discussion on Social Protection and Rights of Children

unicefThe Vice-President of the RS Government Nada Tešanović spoke yesterday with UNICEF representative in BiH Florence Bauer of the Conference for Social Protection and Inclusion in BiH, which will be held in September this year and of the entity documents that regulate this area.

At the meeting they spoke about he opportunities to establish cooperation of UNICEF with institutions of the RS on projects on the rights of children.

Tešanović said that the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sports, for which she is the head, has an obligation based on the decision of forming a Council for the Children of the RS to report to institutions on the application and implementation of the Convention on the rights of the child.

She recalled that this Ministry drafted a law on the protection from violence in the family that was adopted in the National Assembly, in which children were recognized as victims of violence, announced this Ministry.

Representative of UNICEF Florence Bauer said that UNICEF is interested for cooperation when it comes to the implementation of the Convention on the rights of the child in order to raise awareness of representatives of institutions and citizens on the importance of the rights of children.
