Divanhana, a band from Bosnia and Herzegovina, was awarded “Best Group” in an online ceremony in London last night as the best musical composition in the world according to the opinion of the most prestigious world music magazine – the British Songlines.

Along with our Divanhana in the category for the best musical group in the world, the following were nominated: Avalanche Kaito (Burkina Faso), Eliza Carthy & The Restitution (England) and Ablaye Cissoko & Cyrille Brotto (Senegal).

In other categories, awards went to the famous Malian singer Oumou Sangare, followed by Sona Jobarteh, Le Vent Du Nord, and Joe Boyd.

“We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts to the experts of Songlines magazine, who with this award gave us recognition of valuable value for our further work and the development path that our band will follow in the future. It was a great honor to be part of last night’s ceremony in London, where Divanhana from the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the National Museum in Sarajevo, sent a message of love and peace to all who need it today, in these challenging times. We would like to thank all participants in the album ‘Zavrzlama’, artists, producers, managers, publishers. The biggest thanks go to our valued audience, and to our families for their unconditional support,” said the artists gathered in Divanhana.

The ceremony was led by the English singer and composer Sam Lee, and each of the Songlines award winners performed one composition, Klix.ba reports.
