Croatia strongly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership in the European Union, Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman said today after a meeting with the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, in Zagreb.

Grlić Radman stated on the US-based social network X that during the conversation he reiterated “Croatia’s strong support for the Dayton Peace Agreement and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path”, describing the meeting as “very constructive”.

According to him, the talks focused on “the political representation of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, electoral legislation and the preservation of the country’s constitutional order.”

The Croatian minister stressed that Croatia remains a strong advocate for the stability and economic prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it continuously promotes dialogue, institutional functionality and “equality of all three constituent peoples.”

The Dayton Peace Agreement was initialed on 21 November 1995 in Dayton, and officially signed on 14 December of the same year in Paris, thus ending the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
